The Mauritius Beaches you really must see

Looking for an exotic beach location? Try a holiday in Mauritius.  Now if you are already planning on spending your holidays there, you must surely be wondering which beach to visit? The list is unlimited, after all what can be expected of an island positioned as a jewel in the Indian Ocean? Here our team of travel agents along with our customers have reviewed some of the best beaches of the island which you should definitely visit while you are on the island-be it to enjoy a lovely evening walk and to breathe in the fresh rejuvenating air on a perfect tropical day or whether to enjoy the most romantic walk with your better half admiring the beautiful sunset.

The beaches which top our list are the ones found in the North of the island.  The choice of beaches was based on the overall climate of the location, facilities based on the premises and factors like level of safety.  The first beach is the Trou aux Biches beach which has one of the best finest powder sands of the island and the region is also reputed for its tropical weather conditions.

The next beach which made its way to our list is Mont Choisy-the longest and largest beach in Mauritius.  It has more than a mile long of powder sand along turquoise water.  This beach accommodates many well known hotels and bungalows and the reason why it is chosen by many tourists is because it is found close enough to the city and night life of Grand Baie while at the same time it is far enough to give you serenity and peace of mind away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist hub of Grand Baie.

Moving away from the Northern part of the island, Belle Mare Plage which is situated in the east of the island is reputed for its fine bathing sand and stretches out lazily along the South coast up until Mahebourg.  Famous hotels like La Plantation, Belle Mare hotel are situated along this beach.  The beauty of this beach lies not only in its deep blue and turquoise water or its fine powdered golden sand, but it is also famous for its filao trees shaded beaches.

Another very famous beach is the one found on a small island off the east coast of Mauritius and managed by the glamorous Touessrok Hotel-the Ile aux Cerf beach.  Despite its ownership and management by the hotel, it is open to the public which means that you do not have to be a client of the hotel to get access to the small island.  The island is encircled by lovely beaches and it has pristine vegetation but also some restaurants and bars.  You can access the island by boat which can be hired from the small fishing village of Trou d’eau Douce and the boat charges depends on the type of boat you are hiring.  Also, if you are going as a large group, then you can bargain for a lower rate with the boat owner.
