Mauritius does boast its fair share of luxury hotels, which is not surprising as it is a popular tourist destination. There are a large number of 5 star hotels. All the luxury hotels have all the facilities and amenities that make them what they are; exquisite cuisine, beautifully furnished rooms and excellent service.

The Royal Palm Hotel is one of Mauritius very popular 5 star deluxe hotels. It is located on the northern beach in an exquisite part of the town. The Royal Palm, a member of the ‘Leading hotels of the world’ has a total of 84 tastefully decorated suites which are all sea facing. The staff are very friendly, the food is excellent and the views to die for!
The Oberoi Mauritius is part of the leading group of hotels owned by the Oberoi group. This resort is located on 20 acres of beautiful landscape on the North-west coast along the turtle bay, within a marine park. Every room at the Oberoi is luxuriously appointed with hardwood four poster beds, thick pile carpets. The bathroom has a shower and a bath tub. There is a main swimming pool (the luxury villas have private pools), 3 restaurants and 1 bar. The Oberoi also has a spar with a steam room, sauna, gym facilities, beauty parlor and plunge pools. Activities offered at the resort include water skiing, wind surfing and sailing.

The Four Seasons is also a member of a group of hotels. The Four Seasons Mauritius is located on a 25 hectare property in Anahita alongside a golf course and private residences. The resort has slightly over 120 villas divided into four categories; beach pool villas, ocean pool villas, garden pool villas and mangrove pool villas. All villas have an outdoor shower, natural stone floors, walk in closets and a tub. The resort features 4 restaurants, a bar and a kid’s club. Activities guests can partake in include kite surfing, wind surfing, snorkeling and diving.

La Residence Hotel is another one of the famous luxury hotels in Mauritius. The architecture of the hotel is based on the previous century’s buildings and is almost palace like. The hotel is located in the East or Mauritius, in Belle Marre. The hotel comprises almost 30 suites and 135 rooms, with a pool, gymnasium, steam and sauna and a spa. Complementary activities for hotel guests include water skiing, snorkeling and boat trips.
