Beau Rivage Hotel,Belle Mare, Mauritius
Pros
Surprise Upgrade (though this may not be the case for everyone)
Well-appointed villa
Great food
Cons
Expensive Mini-bar items and room service
We booked the Beau Rivage Hotel in Mauritius for our honeymoon as it was highly recommended by some friends who had experienced staying there on holiday, i must say there were several Mauritius hotels that looked fantastic but in the end the Beau Rivage was a great choice as our stay was very memorable.
The hotel is well located on one of the finest beaches of the island. The water was pristine and the white sand soft to walk on barefoot. We booked a honeymoon suite that overlooked the beach but since they knew we just got married, they upgraded us to a villa which was absolutely fantastic. Our villa was spacious and comfortable and nicely decorated. It was very well-equipped with a mini kitchen, a living room, a separate bedroom and bathroom and our favorite treat, a Jacuzzi! The beach was fantastic but since the villa had its own pool, we shared our days between the pool and the beach.
In terms of the food at the hotel’s restaurant, it was always superb regardless if it was buffet or a la carte or the time of day. They have a wide selection of tropical fruits for fresh juices and shakes that my wife could not get enough of. Their wine and cocktail drinks however are quite pricey and since they were not included in our package.
In terms of customer service, we were made to feel very welcome and important. We were especially satisfied with the upgrade and the staff were always cheerful and ready to serve us with a smile.
If we get a chance to go to Mauritius again, we will definitely go back to this hotel.
